Being a direct entry MIDWIFE for the last two decades has given Lorraine Ferrante a profound understanding of the natural BIRTH process, and ways to empower you to trust your inner abilities surrounding the BIRTH of your choice. She has 35 years of Nursing experience and a degree in Social Work, with 25 years of clinical experience. Lorraine has been serving the White Mountains of Arizona as a Midwife since 1998. She is a mother of four, and a proud grandmother to five beautiful grandchildren and one on the way for whom she was privileged to be their midwife.
Lorraine's years of professional and real life experiences working with women, enables her to provide you with the best care available during your pregnancy, birth, and beyond. She is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), certified birth and postpartum Doula, an Herbalist of 20 years, Reiki Master, and a high desert gardener residing in a straw bale off-the-grid home she built over two decades ago.

My midwifery journey began with the hospital birth of my eldest daughter in 1973. Emerging after a long protracted medical labor and birth I knew there had to be a better way....
Fast forward to my next pregnancy 8 years later and I had done my homework. An insatiable course of self-study set the tone for the next few years. Collecting midwifery textbooks, attending friend’s births, going to conferences and completing a 2 1⁄2 year apprenticeship with Trisha Neilson and BirthLine, filled in the gaps that came from being a self- taught lay midwife.
Now, 45 years later, I can say I am no less passionate about birth and women’s health than when I began. Midwifery is both art and science with love, wisdom and compassion guiding all aspects. My core belief is that birth is a natural and sacred process best accomplished in a natural and sacred way. I look forward to helping guide this paradigm of birth into the future.
My name is Maral Salerno and I help couples solve infertility so they can create healthy families they so deeply desire. I want to be the last person couples need to see in order to reclaim their fertility and the families of their dreams!
I am a Mother of two, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, Specialty in Integrative Fertility Methods, Certified Anusara Yoga Teacher, Thai Massage Therapist, and have a BS in Political Science in International Relations from the University of California San Diego.
This mission was cultivated out of the painful journey I witnessed of friends going through their struggle to get pregnant. After years of preparation, they were finally ready for children, but were not able to achieve it. They tried every conceivable method they knew of, and still were not falling pregnant. The pain, disappointment, drain, and overwhelm that it caused them was heart breaking and, least to say, difficult.
As a friend, I would just listen to them. They would punish themselves by pondering questions of why they couldn’t get pregnant? Had they been a bad person? Did they wait too long? Should they have chosen to be a Mother earlier instead of choosing their career? Why did it take so long to find their partner? The rage, anger, depression, and frustration would ensue deeper and stronger as time went on without falling pregnant or having a successful pregnancy.
Witnessing those I love dearly going through this maddening process and knowing in my heart of hearts that there had to be a better way, is what inspired me to help couples solve infertility. I began to research deeply and found that infertility is on a consistent rise! By 2025, almost 10 million couples will encounter problems in having a baby! I thought to myself that there is something so very wrong with this picture.
I was compelled to help couples change the tide and solve their infertility challenges naturally and holistically by getting healthy! What you say?!?!? Just get healthy and I will fall pregnant!?!?!? I know it sounds crazy but it is true. Life wants to create and flourish in a healthy body. When there is an inhospitable environment nature says “I’m not sure I can survive and thrive here so I’ll pass for now.”
When the body is healthy, resilient, and strong, nature says “It’s go time, let’s make BABIES!!!!”
