Breastfeeding Support

It’s no surprise that our bodies make the preferred and most appropriate source of nutrition for our little new ones. Breast milk  provides outstanding health benefits, immunological protection, and is the best source of infant nutrition. Breastfeeding passes on health benefits to both the infant and the new mom; there has been some evidence of protection against breast cancer the longer a mother nurses her baby. Breastfeeding provides many benefits other than nutrition and maternal protection, it also:

  • Helps the mother and baby develop a strong bond
  • Requires the mother to sit down and relax throughout the day.
  • Encourages the baby and mother to spend more time together than apart
  • Provides the mother with a sense of accomplishment
  • Provides natural hormonal pain killers and endorphins to both mother and baby

As an IBCLC, Lorraine offers support and promotes breastfeeding as the optimal way to feed infants. However, we understand that sometimes breastfeeding can be very difficult or impossible for some mother and baby duos. We offer feeding support through the knowledge of SNS feeding and are willing to help you find donor breast milk until your supply is adequate or you find a formula that works for your baby.

Our goal is to provide you and your newly born infant with encouragement, necessary information and education.
